HOTEL IN TULUM: Villas Geminis
We stayed in downtown Tulum to be in the centre of everything and choose a boutique condo, Villa Geminis. A little tropical paradise hidden behind doors, Villa Geminis only has 12 rooms with stunning grounds of trees, flowers, fishes and hammocks by the pool area.
We stayed in the Matisse penthouse (all named after artists) which was a huge studio apartment with a king size bed, sofa, kitchen and large stone bathroom. We were set back from the other rooms and were able to walk around the outside which had a large outdoor tub, chairs and a sunbed.
The room came with complimentary continental breakfast which was served near the reception area in the mornings between 8 and 10. There was fresh fruit available (watermelon, melon and pineapple) and bananas with granola, natural yoghurt, chia seeds, bread, cake and rolls and eggs. More than enough to choose from and all very fresh.
With friendly staff who were always willing to answer all sorts of questions, arrange trips and offer restaurant recommendations, we had a lovely time at Villas Geminis and would absolutely recommend it for your stay.
The penthouse worked out at about £120 per night but the other rooms are a little cheaper.
