RESTAURANTS IN SORRENTO

La Favourita Corso Italia, 71, 80067 Sorrento NA, Italy

By far my favourite restaurant in Sorrento, this place is absolutely stunning! Do not be deceived by the underwhelming entrance off the main street, Corso Italia, this restaurant has around 800 covers and three floors including a beautiful terrace garden with flowers, fairy lights and lemon trees surrounding you. It is also not a tourist trap – the food and service is excellent and it will not break the bank. We had a platter of meats and cheeses to start, accompanied by some homemade garlic bread and bruschetta, which was delicious. We then had the homemade lasagne with auber4gine, small meatballs and sausage meat and the chef’s special of mixed meat in a Neapolitan ragu sauce, which was also tasty and filling. That combined with some sparkling red wine and prosecco was around €35 each. Absolutely recommend!

Ristorante Sorrento Via P.R. Giuliani, 64/66, Sorrento, Italy

This restaurant is tucked in down one of the side streets off the main plaza offering al fresco dining. We had some lovely sparkling rose wine, a pizza with parma ham, gnocchi with tomato sauce and pesto pasta, which were all under €12 a dish.

Decent portions and good value – worth going to for lunch or dinner.

Aurora Light Ristorante Piazza Torquato Tasso 3/4, 80067, Sorrento, Italy

Aurora Light Ristorance offers al fresco dining right in the heart of the centre of Sorrento in the square. The service was good (they liked a joke) and there was a decent choice of pastas, sandwiches and salads but not pizza’s (I think the pizzeria next door is linked to the same restaurant).

We had the chicken, pineapple and spinach salad, which was fresh and tasty and a little lighter than other meals we had been having and the veal milanese (breaded) with vegetables (although I naughtily exchanged mine for fries). The menu offers some different dishes than others, which makes it a bit more interesting. With a couple of drinks each, the meal was €25 each.
