Bars in Amsterdam

Bars in Amsterdam

There are a ton of bars to choose from near the Red District. Given we were staying near the area, it is where we decided to spend most our evenings.

Before we visited Casa Rosso we visited a couple of the bars on the Red Light District ‘strip’.

Temple Bar is a lively Irish Bar playing good music and serving a good selection of beers

Fun lively bar by the Red Light District with great deals on drinks, particularly jagerbombs!

 Mata Hari

Slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the Red Light District is Mata Hari – a much swankier bar than some of the others I had visited in the area!

There was an extensive cocktail menu available – we opted for an Aperol Spritz and The Last Word, a Hendricks based drink which were more expensive than other bars but also with much nicer surroundings. We sat in comfortable sofas on the ground floor and people watched outside.

The Sky Bar is on the rooftop of the Hilton hotel in the centre of Amsterdam offering beautiful views of the city and good cocktails. The views do come at a price with cocktails being around €14 but is so worth it so save it for a treat!
